PAARL: Roads to St. Paul Pasig & Photos

Part One of A Series

Driven by setting new paradigms for future library services and goals to achieve, Dr. Catherine Quimpo-Castaneda, CHED NCR Director, congratulated PAARL and iterated that technology and connectivity usher us all to the 21st century, and that, this convergence makes it possible to conquer the distance to Andromeda and other galaxies.

Dr. Quimpo-Castaneda emphasized three features twenty-five (25) modern libraries of today through a ppt. presentation: first, architecture; second, technology and innovation; and third, digital collections. It provided everyone an exciting tour of the 25 most modern libraries in the world selected and blogged online. The Danish Royal Library (Denmark) and Seattle Public Library (Sweden) are three of the public libraries listed with only two university libraries such as Pace University Library (New York, USA) and Geisel Library (San Diego, California, USA).

St. Pasig Directress, Sr. Teresita Baricaua, SPC, in her words of welcome, believed in the aims of PAARL's 3-day National Conference with the theme "The Power of Convergence: Technology and Connectivity in the 21st Century Library and Information Services." Last November 21, she made an invitation in the LRC-Arts Hall of St. Paul-Pasig and urged participants to put into consciousness and action what great things these will give and impact lesser beings - the child in the school. Also Sr. Baricaua took pride on showing slides of her journey with fellow administrators, faculty, staff and parents demonstrating their calling and assuring child's holistic development as workers of the premier center for basic education.
