July 13, 2011 Library Service & Teaching Portfolios: Collecting & Creating, A Professional’s Best

The Association, also, believes with what Brown (2002) iterated in her paper about planning portfolios, that librarians, teachers and other professionals will have to be continually engaged in reflection and self-assessment.

The Philippine Association of Academic and Research Librarians, Inc. (PAARL), Fully Engaged, Member-driven Association, in cooperation with the Academic Booksellers Association of the Philippines (ABAP), is pleased to invite you to a lecture-forum themed on Library Service & Teaching Portfolios: Collecting & Creating, A Professional’s Best, beginning 10am to 3pm on July 13, 2011 in the Seminar Rooms of Megatrade Hall 3, 5th Level Mega B, SM Megamall, EDSA, Mandaluyong City on the occasion of the 15th Philippine Academic Book Fair.

The said lecture forum is primarily aimed at:

(1) encouraging participants to adopt and apply a business model, portfolio management, in library planning and other activities;

(2) raising the librarians’ teaching identity through teaching portfolios; and,

(3) acquiring practical tips and clear guidance on producing and collecting successful library service and teaching portfolios.

There is a registration fee of P300.00 for members, P350.00 for non-members and P200.00 for students to cover lunch and certificates. Renewal and application of membership for 2011 are also encouraged. With renewal and application of membership (fees: Php200.00, individual; Php500.00, institutional) for 2011, an ID is issued plus a 2011 PAARL souvenir pin is given to each individual who registers.
