98 Attended PAARL's Innovative Technical Services

98, ninety-eight, library personnel attended PAARL’s 2-day national seminar on Innovative Technical Services last August 26-27 at the National Library of the Philippines.

60 were NCR participants. They were from Angelicum College, Asia Pacific College, Assumption College, Ateneo Professional Schools , Center for Culinary Arts, Manila, Centro Escolar University, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Colegio de San Lorenzo, Colegio San Agustin, College of the Holy Spirit of Manila, COMELEC-Main, De La Salle University, Diliman Preparatory School, FEU East Asia College, Global City Innovative Colleges, iAcademy, Jose Rizal University, La Salle Greenhills Adult Night High School, Lourdes School of Quezon City, Manila Doctors College, Manila Polo Club, Inc., Mapua Institute of Technology, National Commission for Culture & the Arts, PAREF Woodrose School, Inc., Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Philippine Women’s University, San Beda College, SGV & Co., St. Paul College, St Paul University, St. Jude College, St. Mary's College, St. Scholastica's College, Statistical Research & Training Center, Technological Institute of the Philippines-Manila, Technological Institute of the Philippines-QC, University of Asia and the Pacific, UP Eng'g Library II, UP-Diliman, Southeast Asian College. (41 institutions)

16 attendees came from Region IV-A and represented 12 institutions from CALABARZON: Casa del Nino Science High School, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, De La Salle Health Science Institute, De La Salle Lipa, De La Salle Lipa Integrated School, De a Salle-Dasma, Laguna State Polytechnic University, Lyceum of the Philippines University, Philippine Christian University, San Benildo Integrated School-Antipolo, and UP Open University.

Central Luzon (Region III) had 8, namely, Angeles University Foundation, Ecumenical Christian College, Holy Angel University, University of Regina Carmeli, and University of the Assumption.

Region IX known as Zamboanga Peninsula was represented by 4 from Jose Rizal Memorial State College: Dapitan City, Dipolog City, Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga City.

Each of the Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Bicol, Central Visayas, Regions I, II, V, and VII, respectively, had 2. These 8 came from Catanduanes State Colleges, Northern Christian College, Saint Mary's University, St. Louis College, St. Paul University Philippines, University of Northeastern Philippines and University of San Jose Recoletos.

University of Baguio and Polytechnic State College of Antique represented CAR and Region VI (Western Visayas), respectively.

Lecturers were Ms. Iyra S. Buenrostro (UPSLIS), PAARL President Ms. Elvira B. Lapuz (UP-Diliman), Mr. Rodolfo Y. Tarlit (UPSLIS), Mrs. Willian SA Frias (DLSU) and Mrs. Loreto T. Garcia (JRU).

Mrs. Victoria Baleva and Mr. Roderick B. Ramos, hosts, also acknowledged official sponsor-partners of the seminar. They were i group, CE Logic and Swets with ppt. presentations, Linar Educational Materials, Forepront, etc. Director Prudenciana C. Cruz (TNL Director) delivered words of welcome while Dr. Ponciano A. Meguito (DCS Superintendent) served as keynote speaker during the first day. CPEC representative Ms. Suzima Gonzales shared a couple of notes about continuous professional education.

Centro Escolar University sent the most number of participants (4) followed by Colegio San Agustin, De La Salle Health Science Institute, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, St. Mary’s College, and St. Scholastica’s College which sent 3 attendees. Early birds were from Manila Polo Club and Diliman Preparatory School. Also, Zamboanga Peninsula representatives received a set of TJIC books. Mrs. Maria Mercedez M. Haz of University of Regina Carmeli was most active participant. There were raffle draws with exciting surprises and prizes.
